Question by : What are some productive ways to use technology in the classroom?
Okay I have to say our school is pathetic, with the strict filter and hardly using technology because we can’t access anything to share our documents. Google Docs doesn’t even load…. that bad. What are some really productive things that we could use computers fully in the classroom?
Some of my ideas were like maybe a small chat server to maybe share links and files across students, for maybe like a webquest that the teacher may give.
Or even allow us to use email to email files to other students.
I personally work faster than everyone else, so I’m usually bored. Something that our school could do is have the teachers make a movie or something using like a screen recording software that we can watch and TYPE notes instead of writing them so that we would be able to access them anywhere. This is so that we could work at our own pace.
Sometimes I work better when I listen to music and I know this applys to almost every other teenager as well. Simply letting us have more freedom to do what we need to to get our work done.
Our school already has this, so that we couldn’t be doing anything we aren’t suppose to until we finish. We would be able to submit our work instantly even if we missed school that day, and we could receive work through email from the teachers! The software is so that the teachers are able to view our screens and can fully take them over. This would be fine if we could then do whatever when we finish.
Mainly, after going on, this Yahoo answer is to ask you what other ways I could show to our Superintendent that more technology would be better for this generation in the classrooms.
Thanks!
