What camera should I get?

Question by sfree: What camera should I get?
I’m a film student at a university. I currently have a Canon ZR800, but the quality is very like home video or filming your kids school play type deal. Obviously being a student I don’t expect to buy anything super high end and fancy, but I would like a camera that I can use to make movies for assignments or for contests. I really don’t know what to get, I asked my professor but he apparently is not updated on technology either. Any suggestions?

I am a fan of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 digital Camera. I have used for many video assignments and postings on my blog with many great comments from the readers. It is a little pricey, but is does shoot is HD. My main reason for buying the camera was the Lite HD movie recording capability.
