What happened to me? Why did this happen?

Question by Porsche Alexis: What happened to me? Why did this happen?
Last July I took ecstasy for the 3rd time. My first 2 times were an awesome adventure but the 3rd time nearly left me for dead in a hotel room… this is what happened:

Around 5am I took 1 pill (Yellow Cupid if it makes a difference)
10-20 minutes later I started feeling the effects but it wasn’t like the times before where I would start to feel hot and tired but then out of nowhere happy, hyper, and in love with everything around me. It was a very uncomfortable, uncertain, and scary feeling…

I wasn’t feeling hot at all.
My hearing echoed so bad that I had to tell my friends to stop talking because it was scaring me.
My breathing sounded like it was on surround sound at a movie theater.
My eyes were wiggling out of control. I couldn’t see much and I couldn’t focus.

At this point I was yelling: “make it stop! make it stop!” my friend Patrick said, “make what stop sweetie?”
“The echoing the wiggling MAKE IT STOP!!!”
He started to get concerned and told one of our other friends that he had never had or heard of the echos before and he has been rolling for 6 years. At this point I knew I was in trouble. I couldn’t sit still. I kept squirming around trying to get comfortable but everything was just too much.
I started breathing heavily almost to the point of hyperventilation and then the worst began…

Patrick and Micki were talking to me trying to keep me calm when I started falling over slowly, my eyes rolled in the back of my head, and my breathing stopped.
Patrick kept shaking me saying,
“Porsche? Stay with me! Stay with me! Keep breathing!!”
I would snap out of it and wake up and focus on breathing but it would happen again every minute or so. I remember I was sitting on the couch when micki told me I needed to relax my hands…I had no idea what he was talking about.
“I thought I was relaxed” I explained.
“No, babe your hands are tensed up really bad” He said while rubbing my hands trying to get them to loosen up.
I looked down and realized my hands were stuck in a claw type position and I couldn’t get them to go back to normal. I remember thinking ‘this is it, I’m going to die in this hotel room. No second chances.’
Micki thought maybe I was overheating but I wasn’t. I wasn’t sweating, I wasn’t hot to the touch, and temperature wise I felt fine. They had me drink some water but it didn’t help.
To keep my body from tensing up Micki played a game with me and told me to swing some punches like I was beating up Rocky. I must’ve done that for 15 minutes. My blood started flowing and my body stopped cramping up…then out of nowhere I got a hyper rush. I felt like I had 10 energy drinks, my words were coming out 100mph and I wasn’t making a bit of sense.
10 minutes later my high was over and all I wanted to do was sleep but I couldn’t. I didn’t sleep for 5 days and could barely eat anything.
Now I am the story they love to tell about a girl that almost died off one pill. I haven’t been able to find an experience like mine ANYWHERE and I will never touch drugs again.

I don’t know what happened.
Can someone please explain?

Probably whatever was in the pill was a mixture of drugs, one of which did that to you. Could well have been amphetamine, or maybe your body just couldn’t cope with any more of that drug. Regardless of legal or moral arguments, that is the danger in taking illegal drugs – no matter what anyone says, you cant ever be sure what is in it. See the info on the links below.
