Question by ♥Гove and Гïfe♥: what is an easy and effective way to remember play scripts?
I am a drama student and I need to remember a character’s lines. Does anybody have any advice or tips to remembering a play script?

I have a week to remember about 25 lines or so…

First of all it’s easiest to learn lines if you’ve already learned your blocking. You can attach each line to the specific movement given by your director. If you haven’t gotten blocking yet, or won’t have much, repetition is the key. Take the first line and repeat it over and over and over until you have it down pat. Then add the next line. Keep adding until you can literally recite them, word for word, as fast as you can. Once you can do that, you’ll never forget them. It also helps to not use any emotion whatsoever into each line as you learn them. Be as monotone as you can and don’t start to “act” until all lines are learned.
