There was this cartoon movie I watched in the summer when I was little, it must have been 1979 or 1980. The plot revolved around a magician who makes his shadow do tricks, but then his shadow becomes fully independent. The independent shadow is, of course, evil and powerful and takes over the kingdom and makes it perpetually dark or something like that. The magician then spends the rest of the movie trying to subdue the shadow and return the kingdom to light.

Does anybody remember that, and if so, can you tell me the name?
