What movie in the past has had the most effect on films?

Question by markwillstar: What movie in the past has had the most effect on films?
I really have to say TRON.

In 1980-1981 Disney’s computer compamy put togetether tis movie. At the time the many part of Disney refused to help with it since they saw computer graphacs movies as a waste of time.

now what makes it so good, isnt the story line, but how it was made.

The whole movie was shot on a black background.
Every light, set, color, everything was done by computers.

At the time, computer monitors could not handle the graphics needed to display these things in the movies. It was all done by coding and would not be visible till on film.

This was different also from Star Wars which was done nearly all by models.

now here’s something funny

20 years after TRON disney got rid of their hand drawers for CGI crews.

THey say if TRON hadnt been made, a lot of movies may not have. It introduced a lot of technology for flm making.

I’m not even going to try to offer up any other possible contenders.

I wasn’t expecting to open your question to see that you had tapped TRON as your pick, but it’s a gutsy move I’ll applaud.

Besides… I was one of the kids who got to see TRON in the theater on opening day, so I’ll definitely second your motion.
