Question by Haissam Y: what programs do movie makers use for animating and making graphics and stuff?
ever since i’ve watched harry potter ad those highly animated movies , i’ve been trying to know how they do it , what program do they use and if it is possible to use it on a normal pc , im really in to movie making but i’d love to add some animation and those extra nice special effects , some tell me how???

They use:

A) 3d animation software (Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema4d, Lightwave, XSI, , Houdini, Blender)

B) video effects and non-lineair video editing software (After Effects, Boris FX, Premiere, Vegas, Final Cut Pro, Combustion, Pyro, ParticleIllusion, etcetera)

C) Lot, LOTS of talent and experience on how to use these tools and apply them to real word production.
