Question by dr_biotox: What software to use in making 3D Movie with live characters (something like Avatar)?
After watching Avatar I get many ideas for making own little movie, or just short video clips, with 3D animated characters and live people. (something like Avatar, but of course, much less good). For example I wanna make a scene where I transform in some creature or something similar. I found that there are many software used, but I don’t wanna lose my view between different softwares. So what software or softwares (if needed) I should use?

The best one in my opinion which also used in the creation of Avatar and Shrek too (not sure of this) is Autodesk’s Maya, it is paid and extremely expensive, if you’re looking for something free try ‘Anim8tor’ found here: http://www.anim8or.com/ it’s pretty good and does the job as well as being free.
