What Started As One Movie Poster Has Grown
Most upcoming theatrical releases have at least one movie poster, while others have dozens. Many of your favorite movies have posters that are still easy to get and others, not so much. The thing is that some of the harder to find posters are worth a lot of money.
Like comic books and other collectable, there are people out there that collect the art work associated with films. Every so often we all hear about someone that started to collect something and before they knew it they had a huge collection worth incredible sums of money.
I was one of these people. I started my collection when I was about thirteen with the purchase of my first movie poster. I never thought that they were going to be worth much, I just liked the way they looked and as each new movie came out I would buy a new movie poster.
Now I have so many posters that I had to get a storage unit to hold all of them. I really do not know just how much my collection is worth; I just bought them because I like them. I usually hang a new movie poster on my wall for a few weeks and then pack it up and add it to my collection when I get a new one.
To me my collection was just something I enjoyed until I heard that some people were selling them for a lot of money. In some markets an old movie poster can sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. After I heard that, I decided it was time to start researching how much money my collection is worth.
