What video editing software should I purchase?

Question by Destina: What video editing software should I purchase?
I have two computers that I use regularly. One is a desktop that runs Windows XP, Home Edition (Version 2002, Service Pack 3) on a motherboard with a 3.20 GHz Intel Pentium Processor with 2.0GB of RAM..The computer has plentiful hard drive space. The other computer is a HP Pavilion DV6-2043US Laptop which runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an AMD Turion II Dual-Core M500 with 4GB of RAM.
Recently, I have found that may existing video editing software is not suited for my needs, so I would need to purchase new software. To be clear I will most likely be uploading videos to YouTube or other video services and not making DVDs, so I’d like to know which of the following software choices would be the best for this purpose, given my hardware selection:
Adobe Premiere Elements
Corel VideoStudio Pro
CyberLink PowerDirector
Pinnacle Studio
Sony Vegas Movie Studio
Thank you for your time.
I’d also need to have software which can open .MP4 files, as well as possibly zoom in and out a whole recording (as I may be recording from a PSP).
