A good one to start with would probably be Ruby or Python, and then moving on to C/C#/C++, and maybe Java. I don’t think scientists normally use programming language in their work, though. And what do you mean, what programming language do they use in movies…? Do you mean which 3D animating program? If so, most use Maya. If you mean for games, then most definitely use C++.
