What’s the best movie/video editing software?

Question by Sassey Prep: What’s the best movie/video editing software?
My friends and I are really into making our own movies (esp. horror flicks) and we’ve been using Windows Movie Maker. It just isn’t doing it for us though. We are just ameteurs, but we would like something that we could use later on as we get more advanced. The top 3 I’ve heard of are Pinacle, Adobe Premeire, and Powerdirector. Are these good brands? Do you have any suggestions of others? The absolute MOST I would want to spend is around $ 100. Thanks for your time!

Adobe Premeire is the best in it’s field in my oppinion but way out of your price range!! but another good one is Ulead video studio 11 get it here
