For me it wasn’t just “The Box” that was bad. It was “Sorority Row”.
After 5 minutes of this film my brain almost turned to dust. I swear it is as if the director intentionally wanted to see how bad he could make a movie. For example a girl is taking a shower in the girls shower room, all of a sudden some other showers turn on. To the average person this would seem normal but no, not to a college senior. So she gets out of the shower and says, “Hello, is anybody there.” I mean I felt like I was on planet retard. I actually watched the first five minutes, turned it off then looked for the nude shower scene, and that was even lame. Through the whole movie extras in the background are yelling goofy 80’s thrasher one liners as if they are spoofing other films. Seriously, we took a step back in evolution with this one.
I mean is Rob Zombie the only guy actually trying to make a decent horror film?
I’m not saying that Halloween 2 was decent, uggghhh; but atleast he’s trying right.
I thought 1408 was a really good horror film actually. Same with Tropic Thunder, I think almost everyone can agree that movie is hilarious. I hope that one day directors will understand that watching people get brutally murdered on film isn’t scary. It’s almost like conditioning us to relate to this behavior.
