Hi,
I was just wondering where I could get a Sony HVR-V1U filming camera. I live in Canada, and I checked future shop, and best buy websites, but found nothing. Is there any other store where I could get one, or can you only get them online? I looked on amazon.ca and couldn’t find it, but I found it on amazon.com. (on amazon.com, alot of stuff can only be shipped to the U.S. for some reason, so I wouldn’t be able to order it.)
If anyone knows another good filming camera, that is a little bit cheaper, PLEASE let me know! I’m looking for a filming camera, as I want to get into making short films, etc. (I’m 16, so nothing too expensive, but fairly good quality. I do work, so I’m able to afford some.) Also, it would have to be compatible with a Mac, and a PC (Windows Vista) and the editing software I ordered for my Flip Ultra HD Camcorder (3rd Generation,) is the sony vegas movie studio HD platinum 10.

If you don’t need all the capabilities of the HVR-V1, take a look at the HDR-FX7. The body, lens, imaging chip array and exterior manual controls and various connections are the same (other than the V1 has XLR audio-in and the FX7 has a 1/8″ – 3.5mm – audio in jack that can use a XLR adapter like a BeachTek or juicedLink). The FX7 is the “prosumer” sibling to the pro grade V1.
You won’t find the FX7 in most stores, either. Can you buy from Sony Canada?
