Where do I find liability insurance for a kid’s club?
Question by RebeccaGirl2007: Where do I find liability insurance for a kid’s club?
My kids want to start a film club— making movies with other kids. They have lots of friends who want to do this with them. I am looking into getting space to meet at, etc. Where do we get liability insurance? How much does this kind of insurance usually cost?

You should contact your local insurance agent. You may have to call a few to find one that writes commercial insurance. You will need to have a general business outline and perhaps a legal entity(name of the business). You need to be able to tell the insurance agent what you will be doing, where you will be doing it, and whether or not you will be making any profits. They may also have questions about how many people will participate. For an organization of this type you might be better off to see if the school will recognize this as a school club so that you can avoid the insurance avenue all together by having the meetings on campus. If you are looking for an annual policy you can expect to pay anywhere from $ 350-$ 1200 depending on your state and your level of activity, limits of insurance, etc. Good Luck!
