Hi. I would like to know which is the lowest price camera to use it to make a MOVIE? The quality i’m looking for is similar to the hollywood movies. Please help.

Do you want film or digital? You can probably pick up used film movie cameras from rental houses for a lot less than most other cameras, but you’ll have to deal with thousands of dollars in film, processing and mastering costs.

If you go the digital route, a good 3-CCD camera – say, the Canon XL2 for standard definition, or the XH A1 for high-def – will run you anywhere from $ 3,000-$ 5,000 and upwards.

Either way, the camera alone won’t achieve the look – you’ll need lighting, reflectors, sound equipment, you name it. Once you add it all up, it’s probably a better idea to plan out your shoot very carefully, then rent everything from a major rental house in your area. It’ll be less expensive, especially if you can budget your time exactly.
