Which version of The Sims is best for making movies/series?

Question by Adrienne: Which version of The Sims is best for making movies/series?
I’d really like to choose a version with great graphics and the least limits on making movies and sets. I’ve never owned a Sims game, but I’ve played Sims 1. It seems like the effects and variety in characters have gotten so much better since. I just haven’t decided on which one to buy. Thanks for any and all help!

If you are debating between Sims 2 and 3:
Sims 3 has way better graphics, and it can support videos with sound. It also has advanced character design sliders that can basically allow you to create anyone.
Sims 2 has one advantage though: the amount of available expansions. Sims can physically do a lot more in Sims 2 than in Sims 3, so if you are looking for more variety this may be a better option.
If you want to work with Sims 3 I suggest waiting until the “Late Night” expansion comes out on October 26. This will open up a lot of new options.
I apologize if you were asking about expansions rather than versions of the game, but I don’t think I would know how to answer the question if you were. I suppose it just depends on what type of movie you want to make!
