Question by Daisymae: Why did they make so many rebel teen pictures in the 1950s?
Was there a problem with juvenile delinquency during that period? I saw a movie last night called Teenage Crime Wave. B movie.

It has to do with the birth boom after World War 2. Many children were born during this time, and naturally as they were hitting their teens, movies were made and directed at this market. They were popular and the market was there. You go after your target market, which was teens at this time.
