Why do directors have such a hard time making poems and books of Edgar Allen Poe movies good?
Question by Simply Ravishing: Why do directors have such a hard time making poems and books of Edgar Allen Poe movies good?
I have read a lot of his work and I was at rental store and seen the movie Raven that was suppose to be based off his poem, but the movie was terrible. They made some movies out of Shakespeare, yet they struggle with such things as Raven Black Cat,Pit and the Pendulum, and many others. They either don’t go far enough or they directors don’t follow the writtings at all.

more likely they don’t follow the writings at all as you said, but making novels/poems into great movies is a tough task even for veteran producers! hopefully they can put one together and soon.
