Question by keopcy: why does the DVD of Universal Soldier cost and a copy of 40 year old virgin cost ?
Does it cost more to produce that movie than the other or is the reality just that all dvds cost the same to make and the movie companys are making huge profits from sellin dvds that cost like $ 2 to make for up to $ $ 99 (for some box sets) and yet are complaing about people bootleging when theyre probably far from hurting in the money area. its like someone complaing about making only 100 billion dollars cause they used to make 110 billion dollars im sure that movie grip will get fired for it but that producer still has his mansion in beverly hills….plus i know universal soldier sukks but my point is about the cost of actually making the dvd

Supply and demand. People want new releases and are willing to spend more on them. Plus they have to pay for all the advertising and the making of the movie.
For older titles, every buck they make is all profit.
