Question by qwert: Why don’t they keep producing old video games?
Why don’t they keep producing video games like they do with the majority of movies? How come I can get a brand new copy of The Silence of the Lambs but I can’t get a new copy of Final Fantasy 7? They are still making the official strategy guide for FF7 so there must be some demand for it.
Hopefully Nintendo’s virtual console will be a success and the video game industry will see that people still love the old games.

I agree with this. It would be great if we were able to buy a game that was made in 1984 for the Atari or something like that and be able to own it. The economy of this country has made it so that things get obsolete and they keep making new ones over and over, it never ends. I would love Activision to re-release the Zork games: Return To Zork, Zork Nemesis and Zork Grand Inquisitor. But they dont do it mostly because they think it wont sell. Meanwhile there are many people who would actually buy them. I am one of them. I would also love to see the original Nintendo being re-released with a number of games on one cartridge. Who can forget the Super Nintendo and Super Mario World with Yoshi, a game like that is basically gone and it would never be released again, and people like me are left to keep an older system just to be able to play that game. Nintendo should create a console that has all games ever made by Nintendo available, they can do that, they can afford it and include it in a numbered collection, I mean these companies can do so many things but they are always thinking on the flashing dollar signs, its unfair.
