Question by 597: Will they make the Artemis Fowl book/s into a movie/s?
I think they will, but I’m not sure. And will it be animated or real life? If they are going to, when will it come out? And what is the cast? If you don’t know the cast, who do YOU think would be a good cast? Thanks!

“An Artemis Fowl movie has been confirmed by Eoin Colfer. In a recent AFC interview, Colfer stated that the screenplay was still being written, but pre-production was at a standstill because of the recently-ended WGA strike. He stated as a joke that it would be finished “two years after he died.”

“In an August 2008 interview, Colfer stated that “we are finished writing it, now we are just waiting for the green light.”

“In addition, at the 2008 Hay Festival Colfer stated that a dispute was being settled over whether the film should be a CGI production or shot in live-action, with Colfer apparently favouring the latter.”

I’ve only read the first book, but I think live action would be more enjoyable than the computer generated imagery they are considering. It seems that the timing for a movie is completely up in the air at this point, so there is no cast yet. Honestly, I’m not sure who would be good in it.
