Ok i bought a gateway laptop brandnew from the store (a few months ago) but when i first got it i tried to make movie on Windows Movie Maker (it was already installed in computer) and when i tried to import the music (or audio) it says…..
The file C:\Users\Alishia\Music\Playlists\taylor swift.wpl cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
And so i downloaded the k-lite codec package and the vista codec package and still it will NOT work….
So will i have to somehow take the codecs and put them in the WMM codec list (if so then how?) OR when i downloaded the k-lite and vista codecs it should have worked automaticlly??
But what i don’t get is that my laptop was brandnew straight out of box….i thought everything should work properly on it????
has this ever happened to you or anyone you know?
I am going to pick best answer (10 pts) to who ever helps me and can get my WMM working….!!
***If you know what I can do to fix this problem then could you please describe detail by detail and step by step and explain what something is if you think i wouldn’t know….(ha ha lol im not a computer geek so i don’t know anything about codecs and and things that make the computer function…lols)***
My computer is a Gateway Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1….and Intel Pentium Dual Core Inside.
OMG plz HELP ME…i don’t know what to do and i need to make a video like URGENT….

Well, when that happens to my computer it usually means the file I downloaded was corrupted. Maybe you can ring the people who made the computer and ask? I’m not entirely sure.
