According to the Washington Post, Palin did NOT sell the plane on Ebay, nor did she sell the plane for a profit. She ended up selling it at a $ 600,000 loss to taxpayers to one of her political contributers. It was a politcal favor.

How can people support a politician (I dont care if they are Republican or Democrat) who thinks they can get away with boldface LIES to the American people. Palin has lied about this repeatedly in her scripted speeches.

Why do Republicans want to elect a politician who they already know is lying to them and had no shame about doing it? Are these “small town values”?
“The jet did not sell on eBay. It was sold to a businessman from Valdez named Larry Reynolds, who paid $ 2.1 million for the plane, shy of the original $ 2.7 million purchase price, according to news reports at the time. Reynolds contributed to Palin’s campaign in 2006 and 2007.

What happened? It appears that, as she promised during her bid for governor, Palin did try to sell the plane on eBay, but there was only one serious bid, in December 2006, and it fell through. The Westwind II was sold about eight months later.

But that hasn’t stopped Palin, or McCain, from implying — and, Friday, claiming outright — that Palin sold the jet on the Internet.

“You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor, and sold it on eBay — and made a profit!” McCain declared in Wisconsin at a campaign stop Friday.

The video tribute to Palin that aired at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night made the same claim.”

I don’t think Palin has ever claimed to have sold the plane on ebay. Palin did however put the plane up for sale on ebay there were no buyers.Palin later sold the plane 300,000 under it’s blue book value to a private citizen.
