Question by Dan Miller: can you recommend any scripts which turns off/on different elements on a web site?
I want something that will change my own viewing of any live website so I can customize – such as on yahoo answers.

Greasemonkey, Proxomitron. But you have to write the script for the particular site to turn off the particular features.
