I will soon be doing the musical Babes in Arms, and I want to read the script so I can get a good grip on the characters to figure out which one I should audition for.

here is a list of all the characters and what they are like
Valentine White (High Baritone, 17 – 25)
Leader of the acting troupe, a composer, romantic.
Susie Ward (Mezzo/Soprano, 16 – 24)
Hopelessly in love with Val. Enthusiastic & attractive. Hides the fact that Steve is her brother.
The Press Agent (25 – 50)
The narrator of sorts.
Terry Thompson (legit Alto/Mezzo, 16 – 24, comedic)
Buxom girl in love with Gus, but attempts to use her sex appeal to further her career
Gus Field (Tenor, 16 – 24, comic role)
A clumsy but kind apprentice.
Seymour Fleming (40 – 65)
Co-owner of the theatre. Penny-pinching.
Bunny Byron (Alto/Mezzo, 30 – 65)
Co-owner. Loved by the actors but bossed by Seymour. Eve Arden type.
Lee Calhoun (25 – 60)
Southern author. Conceited, arrogant.
Jennifer Owen (non-singing, 16 – 24)
Lead of rival production. Glamourous.
Phyllis Owen (non-singing, 40 – 60)
Jennifer’s ambitious stage mother. Cruel and domineering.

A famous and kind young producer.
