Testing ——————— Translation: Woman: …The men from Tampere will present their new movie today in the Cannes film festival. The movie making that started as an internet joke has grown into a million dollar business. Man: This is where it all started. A sci-fi parody that in a cheap and comical way mimics its role model, Star Trek. A one man’s joke grew into a huge success resulting in millions of viewers on the internet. Samuli: Well.. I started alone and later little by little got some friends involved. Then we had a group of maybe five people making Star Wreck. Man: ..and here we are now. There’s a new movie, Iron Sky and it’s made more seriously. The Nazis have fled to the Moon after a war and they’re returning to Earth on 2018. The group of few from Tampere has grown into a community of thousands. Timo: The budget is 3 million… 2,5 to 3 million. There’s a bunch of…hopefully…international professionals and such… So money will burn. Man: They intend to get funding for this project using relations the Jade Warrior movie directors have. The script is written by the Finlandia award winning author Johanna Sinisalo. The internet will play an even stronger role in making the movie. Timo: They can practically be in this giving ideas or making some actual elements.. say space ship models or graphics or music or anything.
