I have what i believe to be a good idea for a movie however i am not a very talented writer. Is it in any way possible to sell ideas for movies or do production companies only accept completed scripts. In the case of the latter, where would one start when writing a script for a movie?

You need to write something that you can copyright and protect while you are selling it to a movie company. You can learn to write a screenplay and then register with the WGA (writer’s guild). Or you can write a treatment which is your movie in story form minus the dialogue. Good luck.
