these sat on a low burner on the outside stove for hours- long after we had retired to bad movies and popsicles on the couch. the scent of their caramelized goodness wafting in, occasionally rousing us from our food-induced comas, stirring dustbin to rouse and stir until bedtime and the hour of yummy onion perfection could be postponed no longer.

some of these will become part of chickenburritostuff, a household staple and great addition to salads, eggs, nachos and whatever.
chickenburritostuff and salads are about my only culinary contributions to this well-fed household- dustbin reigns supreme as resident foodgod and no, i have absolutely no idea what went into these onions to make them so fabulous.
