why does hollywood film fake events on movies?..on the fighter based on micky ward shows a fight that ward fights a guy named hernandez..if you go to boxrec.com no fighter named hernandez is not on his resume..and also in the movie it shows when he beat alfonso sanchez but they failed to show when he got koed by vince phillips another loss to zab judah and they basicly skipped 6 fights ward had from when he fought sanchez to neary..in the movie it shows from ward beating sanchez ward gets a title shot against shea neary witch is completly bogus..they also screwed up on wards record..in the movie they anounce ward had 7 lossess when steps into the ring against neary when in reality ward had 9 lossess…so i guess according to hollywood ward never fought vince phillips and zab judah….why doesnt hollywood keep it real?and why make a movie about ward when there are dozens of other fighters that have better resumes and more intersting life stories compared to ward?!theve already made movies about ali,louise,tyson,marciano,braddock,sullivan…these hollywood fools got to make films about other greater fighters compared to ward for example a movie about jack johnson or sugar ray robinson would be way better…if you were a film producer what boxer would you make a movie of that hasnt been in a film?in my own opinion id make a movie about the legendary mexican julio cesar chavez whos family was so poor that they lived in a abadoned train and grew up in the mean streets of culiacan and julio’s compadre(godfather) was ramon arellano felix,and julio’s goal was to make it 100-0 but he only made it to 89-0 by the time he was already war torn and had stopped training like he did before he got the money and fame becoming a womanizer and his huge parties with alcohol and cocaine with banda recodo..today julio owns hotels and gas stations all over the state of culiacan and julio is used as a front for the cartel to luander money…julios life would make a great movie but americans only want to see movies about americans even though hollywood has to lie to make the movie intersting!

Because The Fighter was “Based on a true story”, it wasn’t a documentary. Of course they’ll have to skip some fights, they wouldn’t want to make a 12 hour movie. And of course they’ll have to glamorize some aspects of the film to keep the audience’s attention. The producers themselves have said that they’ve embellished some of the fights to add drama. It’s no big deal. It’s Hollywood. It happens all the time. “Based on” implies “loosely based on”.
