How can I make an interactive DVD movie?

I always wanted to make an interactive movie that I could play on a DVD player. Like Dragon’s Lair or Space Ace. Or if I could make one like the interactive Trivial Pursuit ones and other board games.
Just something where I can have random occurrences, interact during movies, or during stills, etc.
Please tell me the type of software I can use (Mac or PC) and if there are any special things I have to do. Thanks!

you would need something like Director MX 2004
