Thanks to the awesome Minxlj for tagging me – and it only took me a day to pull my finger out and get it done. Impressive stuff methinks.
1. I interviewed the actor Steve Coogan and music legend Tony Wilson at a swanky hotel in London for my university magazine when the movie 24 Hour Party People came out.
2. I can play a mean Clarinet
3. I filmed and edited a short documentary called Life on the Edge in California in 2008.
4. My favourite author is Douglas Coupland and was lucky enough to hear him talk at the Tyneside Cinema in 1999.
5. I was offered advice from director Danny Boyle about how to make a good horror movie. His sage like words of wisdom were put to use in my final year production at university. Sadly the film was pretty rubbish. Cheers Danny!
6. I am Godfather to my two nieces Hannah and Niamh.
7. A promo photograph I took of a band was published in the Guardian newspaper.
8. From an incredibly young age I have adored Cheese Scones. They are my favourite accompaniment to a good cup of coffee.
9. In 2007 I was lucky enough to meet my Flickr friend AnzyAprico in Fukuoka, Japan. She is one of the most lovely people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
10. I am a Macintosh addict and currently have three Apple computers on the go at home.
11. One of my earliest memories is playing Queen vinyls on my mam and dads record player. The record of choice was the News of the World album which has the awesome track Sheer Heart Attack on it but my favourite Queen track to this day is Spread Your Wings.
12. I have been with my awesome girlfriend Emma for 12 years…. Yikes.
13. I have an extra knuckle on both of my second toes, making them fairly rank.
14. I have a phobia of balloons. No… seriously.
15. Before getting my degree in Media Production I studied Modern Art for a year.
16. When I was little all I wanted to be when I grew up was a commercial airline pilot. Not a super cool fighter pilot, a pilot for someone like British Airways. This decision was arguably the result of travelling abroad a great deal as a child and desperately wanting a shot in the fight simulator from The Krypton Factor.

Calling Jelly Beans “Fruit Chews” Makes You Fat
All of us, even professional dieticians, make mistakes, especially when it comes to estimating the calories on a plate. One of the more common mistakes is known by marketing researchers as the halo bias, which is the tendency for labels or marketing claims to make us incorrectly judge the calories in food. Take this recent study, summarized by Chistopher Shea, at the Wall Street Journal’s “Ideas …
