Q&A: Why do professional movie makers use film rather than Video to shoot their movies?
Question by Dan: Why do professional movie makers use film rather than Video to shoot their movies?
Video is less expensive and easier to work with. With film you have to convert it to digital video in ordr to edit it, then back to film, right? why do they make it so expensive and difficult when it can be so cheap and easy to get the same effect? I mean I could go down to target or best buy or walmart and get a top quality camera for at the most, around $ 600 and the have these $ 3000 cameras. WTF dude! why?

You still do not get the film quality and the ability to play with the shadows as you do with video
