How to let him know it’s ok to make a move?

I finally have a date with the guy I like, who is also my best friend. We are going to the cinema this weekend, and it’s my first proper date. What am I supposed to do, how can I let him know that I want him to put his arm around me/kiss me/ etc? He’s a little bit nervous and awkward sometimes, so I don’t know if he’ll just go ahead and do it without my hinting that I want it first, if you know what I mean….

so does anyone have any tips for me???

(oh and we’re seeing Iron Man 2 if that helps, so it’s not going to be a scary movie that I can pretend to be scared during, cuz I know that trick! )

make a move first then move back to see if he will make a move on his own on that date or the next time you guys hang out
