Advice on my film-making career (Professional Answers only)?
Question by Hello there.: Advice on my film-making career (Professional Answers only)?
ONLY PRO’S ANSWER, PLEASE.
Ok, so I am going to be a movie director/scriptwriter and I was just wondering. I am only in grade 10 right now, I have started making a story for my 1st low budget movie that I would make, today I made the characters for it, and I will start writing a script soon.
But what I want to know is if I want to make a reference to another movie, for example like a little send-up, how do I get the permission to do so? Do I just call the person responsible for it and ask if it is ok?
The school I am in at the moment is a piece crap and I am leaving to go to a school next year where I will be able to do Movie and Film subjects. Then after school, I will probobly go to tafe/university to learn more about how to be a movie maker.
Do you reckon I will be able to afford a professional camera to film the movie? Right now I have around AU$ 8,000 in the bank, and perhaps my parents can help me out money wise.
The movie, though wouldn’t require much money because the story is set in my backyard, the vacant lot next to my house, and the local Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Oh yeah, I would also like to act in the movie, as well as 2 of my cousins perhaps. The characters will be around 10-17 and will be around 5 of them.
Even If I am 20-24 years old or more, I could probobly still play a 16 year old, because I look young.
Thank You!
Yeah thought so, but you can get cheaper ones for like 13,000 I beleive.
