Has anyone seen the movie Hotel Rwanda?…?
Question by Seth: Has anyone seen the movie Hotel Rwanda?…?
…and can help me with some college-level questions about it?
Here are the questions, and the answers I have so far. I watched the movie months ago, this is a far overdue assignment. I have tried Googling things, but no fantastic luck yet, and I can’t remember a few things about it.
I appreciate any help! 🙂
1. Who or what does Paul serve at the beginning of the movie? How does this change as the movie progresses?
At the beginning of the movie,
2. How and why does Paul’s rationale for decision making change?
3. What role does Tatiana play in shaping Paul’s decisions?
She is a Tutsi, as well as his wife, and he feels like he has to keep her safe no matter what; at whatever costs. A lot of his choices are based on her safety and the safety of his children and others she wants to keep safe.
4. What talents and skills did Paul have and how did he use them to respond to the crisis? Are these similar to the skills mentioned in the readings about servant leadership?
5. What resources were at Paul’s disposal and how did he use them?
He had a fair amout of money he could bribe with as well as purchase groceries and supplies. He also seems to have several international connections he can call up for assistance.
6. What role did Rwandian media play in the genocide? The international media?
The Rwandian media tried its hardest to encourage the genocide, using phrases like “kill the Tutsi cockroaches” and “cut down the tall trees.” The international media attempted to widely broadcast the terrible things to get people in other countries to assist and stop it out of pity.
