Okay so this is the problem… I had issues with my xbox 360 so I sent it in for repairs. Instead of repairing my unit, Microsoft sent me back a refurbished xbox 360. Upon receiving my 360, I set it up and watched a movie on it using my Xbox 360 universal remote and everything worked fine.
The next day, I decided I wanted to play a game so I tried to sync my wireless controllers up to the 360. They did not sync. Thinking that the issue may be with my wireless controllers, I tried them on my friend’s 360 and they worked fine.
So in short, my wireless controllers will not sync with my Xbox 360. The issue is not the wireless controllers. Interestingly, my xbox 360 universal remote still works with the console which makes it hard for me to believe that there is something wrong with the IR receiver. I am syncing the controllers in the manner stated in the instruction manual and online.
If anyone could help me, I would be more than grateful! Thanks.

Hmmm…quite interesting…did you try calling Microsoft customer support? If your not afraid of voiding your warrenty I would crack it open and SEE whats wrong. If your a normal, sane person I would call or e-mail Microsoft customer support. I hope this helps.
