I’m going overseas and would like to make some clips to share with my friends/family online.. aand am wondering what’s a good (affordable) camera + what movie editing software i should get….. or anything else…….

If you need a webcam to record your VLOG, I recommend the “Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000. It’s one of the best cameras, and it’s really affordable. CNET rates it Excellent, and it’s price tag is the icing on the cake. If you don’t want to be restrained to your computer while recording, try an affordable digital camera that takes movies (they work especially well if they have image stability control). If going this route, I would suggest the “Nikon L18”. It’s a great price and also one of the best digital cameras. For movie editing, Windows Movie Maker should work just fine. If you’re looking for an alternative, try Pinnacle or Ulead Video Studio. They work great… Adobe Premiere works good too. You could also try an online video editing site. If you go this route, I recommend JumpCut by Yahoo. I hope this helps… Once you are ready to shoot and edit, your VLOG should be awesome, and ready to upload anywhere, such as YouTube.
