Hey Guys & Girls! I am looking for some reasonably easy to use software, for making videos. The kind of thing I’m looking for:
Making Titles
Decent Visual Effects
and other bits and bobs like that xD
Ive tried:
Movie Maker
Jahshaka
Video Spin
& After Effects
None of those really did it for me, any other programs you people can think of, hook me up, I will be grateful.

There is a paid version of Flash and Director — the Macromedia product — is still available though it’s no longer maintained (the technology is in Flash and AfterEffects. Beyond that you would just have to face Open Source (which is powerful but not simple). I would recommend two live CDs. The first fits on a regular CD and allows you to save the data files to your hard drive. It is created by an Italian Rastafarian, Dennis Rojo a.k.a Jaromil, who lives in Amsterdam. I do sometimes get the feeling of acrid fumes when I run it and while he says you can “nest” it on your hard drive, DON’T. You can usually get away with saving data files, eventually but don’t install:

Apodio is more “serious” and you can pretty much trust the documentation on the website. You need to install it on a DVD though:

Burn either to disk, put it in your drive and boot from it. While it is running you will be in a graphical Linux system, with all the programs — mencoder, imageagick Avidemux and, though it is for creating logos and such, Inkscape already installed.
You will find that combinations of them, and/or of the programs you already entioned, will do the trick rather than individual programs.
