Q&A: Windows Movie Maker problem?
Question by .: Windows Movie Maker problem?
I keep trying to publish a movie but it gives me an error message saying that it cannot save the movie to specified location.
The files I’m using (the video and the audio) are compatible with Windows Movie Maker, so the problem doesn’t have to do with the files being incompatible.
I sent the files (the project file and the video clips/audio file) to another computer, but when I tried to open the project in the other computer’s version of Windows Movie Maker, it gave me a message saying that the project file cannot be opened (even though it’s a WSMM file, so it should work).
I close down other processes to make sure that the file can be published into a movie, but it doesn’t make a difference. The publishing process takes up a lot of Computer Usage, then stops when it looks like it’s getting close to actually working.
I’ve also tried to save it to my email instead of to my computer, but nothing works.
I’m really not sure what the problem could be. Any suggestions? (Please explain everything clearly… I’m not that used to using WMM, but I really want to publish this video) Thank you.

Why not try saving your movie first, and then uploading your video so it can be published.
If this doesn’t work (though it should save your movie) try removing any characters that might conflict with settings, such as < > in the title (e.g. movie<<>>.wmm to movie_01.wmm) when you save it/publish it.
