I am in the process of making a video on windows movie maker that I wish to put on youtube. I have the song I want in the background and some television clips. However, the sounds from the clips are still there, how do i remove the sound in certain areas?

I think the easiest way to do it is to put the tv clips in the order that you want them. Then put the whole lot on mute. Then export as an AVI or whatever. Once you’ve done this, the movie will appear (as a silent movie) in the imported stuff at the top of the screen.
Then you add the sound. Not very practical, but then neither is Movie Maker. Have you tried Cyber Link Director? There’s much more control over sound editing, and it’s free to download from some sites.
