i heard from a friend that to make my vaio laptop as fast as it was when i first bought it.. but the thing is, does it also erase all the programs in my computer? even the windows movie maker and all the stuff that came with my laptop? like totally erase all of it.. even the basics? thanks.. cause i really like the windows movie maker program and the windows media player and stuff.. please help.. i wanna do it by tonight.. thanks

Yeah, they are probably right, but if you clear out your temp files, defrag the system etc you may regain some of your performance. If you do choose to do the system recovery make sure you have all the cd’s that came with the system and look on the sony support website for instructions on how to perform the recovery
