Why do people BS about wat they like in entartainment?

How do you make solid selling points? For example, People only talk about actors for movies, rarley do you hear appreciation for the script story and plot. Secret window was a weird movie but people only give it all the roar because it had jonny depp in it. If he was not in the cast, the movie and the plot would magically be sub pared. also I had a friend who always hated linkin park for unkown reasons and listened to similar music.I had him listen to that new track called “what ive done” he listened to it and was like this is a “f%^$ awsome group, who is it?” and I told him and said “oh I hate them” (this just isnt linkin park many other artists I have alluded to him the same way. Why is world of warcraft labled as the father mmo? the first mmo to my knowlege was the first never winter night (i could be wrong) , the most revoulutionary in technological steps was the first everquest (it really hasnt moved much at all from there (besides graphics and sound). why bs about wat u like?
