Question by Anthony: Any tips on how to get people emotionally attached to characters in a movie?
I’m making a movie and I do not want my characters to be flat, boring, and uninteresting. Any tips on how to help the audience become emotionally attached to the characters? Any examples?

Don’t make your character perfect. Or, you could but underneath, they could be hurting because of family values (Ex. Dad rarely pays attention; works too much. Mother complains how character is always fat when the character really isn’t.)
Take a look at your friends and think of the emotional problems they faced. What about the movie Precious? When people see her, all they think is “Just a fat, black girl.” But in the movie, it shows how difficult the characters life is, family problems, abuse, etc. And many people relate to that.
Try listening to “The price of perfection” by Magnetic North.
The idea’s will start rolling in once you start brain storming.
Good luck with the movie! C:
