Question by shomakh: Anyone know an easy way to edit home videos/video clips? How to combine parts of several videos to make one?
I have several videos i filmed on my mobile and uploaded. I now want to make a ‘best of’ sort of video, where i want to take the best parts of all my movies and combine them into one.

Does anyone know an easy (or even a hard!) way to do that? Is it possible? I have Windows Movie Maker already but could download any other free software if someone suggested it. I checked Windows Movie Maker and the tutorial says i can combine clips if they are ‘contiguous’ or shot at the same time in the same sequence. My movies are all different, filmed at different times.

Hope someone can help. I get the feeling that, with all the software available nowadays, it cant be a difficult thing to do, once i know how!

Thanks a lot all who replied. Its not just that i want to combine several clips, but i want to combine certain parts of various videos. How do i get those parts out of the original clips first? then i need to combine them.

Open Window Movie Maker.
Go to file-> import media, and import all of your videos
Drag the video you want to edit onto the timeline on the bottom
use the nudge left and nudge right tools until you get to the scene that you want to separate the video at.
click split from the tools menu to separate the portions of your video and then delete the part that you don’t need.
Repeat this with every video you need to edit and don’t forget to save the project.
