Question by Jordan: Best (slightly inexpensive) video camera for short movie making?
Like the title says, I’m looking for a “not-too-pricey” video camera to make my movies with. I’m an amateur director and film writer, and I need a good video camera under $ 500.
I know that people will argue with me saying I’m cheap, but I’ve already spent hundreds on Equipment and I’d like to spend a bit less this time.

SInce the least expensive camcorder with a mic jack and manual audio control is the Canon HV40 (and it does 24p), and is outside your budget, then I would suggest the Canon ZR960 + an audio “field recorder” like those form Zoom, Edirol or Tascam (and lots of others).
