Can my PC play HD content?

Question by troubled: Can my PC play HD content?
Like, can any PC play it or do you need special hardware and software? My PC specs are below.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz
2GB PC6400 (800MHz) RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
512MB 8800GT
250GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
22″ Monitor @ 1680×1050 (16:10)

So will that be capable of displaying HD content or would I need a 16:9 monitor to do that? Also, is there any special software I need, or will it play fine in iTunes? The reason I’m asking is because iTunes is now making their television shows and movies available in HD and I want to know if it’d be worth it to try it out. Will I see a difference between the SD and HD content?

Yes, it will work just fine.
You can use WMP11 or iTunes.
A word of caution, itunes is HD resolution, but the bit-rate is rather low, so the quality is not that great.
If you don’t have a 16:9 monitor you wll simply have larger black bars on top and bottom.
