Question by BAILEY: Cannon Digital a590isCamera, how do I get avi. to mpeg?
New birthday present, Cannon a590is small digital but great stuff in it.. I cannot send the Video clips to I have Taken by email… like my other camera.. When I download the pix and they go My Pictures they are in AVI format… could that be the problem? If that is the problem.. than do I change he video formay to an Mpeg, if so how do I do this.. would that be the camera setting or the software in the computer? My other camera takes pictures in Mpeg and I send them in the emails without incident.. help, how do I change the camera’s settings to make the movie clips (email ready) Mpeg.. or what the heck else can I do to send these movie clips, it was sending them fine with the other camera and mpeg format.. now new camera with avi.. and I cannot send them… Help Again! Please, Thankyou! I will pick a winner that is quick and on the money with the easy. I have no (digital camera) skills beyond working with the menu system… but I’m ready for this lesson bobby

ok… I have the same problem and no, converting it to mpeg probably wont solve your problem… first you need the propper codec so that the computer actually plays the codec… I can’t help you there because there a millions of codecs for each file type(avi,wmv,mpg etc.)… that and I have no idea myself since I’m also going through the same problem. All you have to do though is simply get the codec and have it installed, then it will play… I wish I can tell you which codec to use but sadly… I can’t 🙁 So yeah… that’s all I can say, good luck in finding the codec or any other method you choose to use!
