Childhood Movies — Make a Family Movie Night
the Charlie Chaplin days of silent movies. Electronics wholesaler(s) then couldn’t supply easy to use technology. We kids would usually supply the movie’s running commentary, and generally it was the case that that would make the whole event even more comical. The earliest of the family films were not in color. I can’t even recall what the media technology was that we viewed, but it definitely was not convenient. To watch the movies, Dad or Mom would borrow a projector from the school or from church, or sometimes from a neighbor. We had one of those old movie screens that was stored in the closet.
The movies themselves helped us remember days long gone – happy ones of joyful events – but the process of taking the time to gather, all of us together, and watching the movies as a family was also a wonderful way to make memories in and of itself. Mom would make
