Question by Varcan: Digital SLR, are there any that can zoom during movie recording?
I have an older camera that makes movies, but has a “flickering stop motion” effect for trains and trucks.

Since that is what I want to take movies of, it’s not too satisfactory.

I’m buying a new one and I want to find out if I should get another SLR with movie capabillities or a camcorder instead. My current camera does take decent still photos.

Any DSLR with video recording can zoom during recording if you’re using a zoom lens. If you’re using a prime lens (lens with a fixed focal length), then no.
